Apple Vs Non-Apple (Orange)?

I think different people need different products.That's why God created Steve Job, Bill Gate, Dennis Ritchie, Lady Gaga, Morita Akio or J. K. Rowling...etc. Cool people need cool phone, I love my Samsung Galaxy s2 and also my old iPhone 3G. Before I saw lots of senior people (60+) holding the iphone 3G and scroll and scroll and scroll..... with their Glasses on the top of their nose! Now, I cannot see any old people holding my Samsung Galaxy s2 since it is not easy to use as an Iphone!

And now, I feel that I am cool... haha

Somebody showing me a new friend - Siri works so good and my Galaxy s2 ... haha... don't bother talking to him.. please...

I am using a MacBook which I found it is the best laptop in the world. So easy to use!!!! MacBook knows me a lot but I did not really know him because Macbook does not really allow people to know him easily. Com'on!!! Where is the registry Keys? Can I do regedit? Can I know what does 37920-20392-19302-10392.mp64 means? Haha..

PC allows me to do whatever I want!!!! Come on Baby, take off your Bikini... and... PC will take it off right away... WOW!!!!! So easy.. (so cheap too.. haha). For Macbook, she said,"Yes, I can take it off for you but you need to pay $999999999999.99 on App Store!!!!!

If you are an app developer, I think you want to work for Apple appstore more since you may get more profit! (Old people do not know how to Jail break their iphones...OR Also there is only one screen size! Your app only needs to care 1 size) For Android phone, After 2 secs your apps released, it will be on 4share.com. So fast!!! (If your app is not there yet, it is because your app sucks... haha)

做窮人抑或當富翁？是靠雙手還是命運？是個人能力影響？還是社會資源分配不均所致？

香港電台電視部曾製作兩輯《窮富翁大作戰》，引起不少社會人士關注貧窮問題，而接受過挑戰的一眾富二代，嘗試了貧窮生活的滋味，他們的經歷和反思，值得分享。與此同時，我們亦希望年輕一代，能夠就着各項貧窮問題，通過辯論形式，作出回應和討論，希望達致建設一個和諧共融的社會。

節目主持以外，我們將會邀請四位曾經參與《窮富翁大作戰》的嘉賓，再度現身我們的節目，分享他們挑戰貧窮生活的體驗，並引伸為四個設定辯題，發表個人意見，惟角色必須中立。節目的主要部份是一個青年論壇，我們設定四個有關貧窮問題的辯題：

一、低收入、低學歷會使八十後和九十後註定沒有出頭天？

二、貧窮會一代傳一代？

三、社會資源分配﹑社會規劃發展不均，會令基層市民沒有出路？

四、貧富懸殊會導致仇富，仇商？

我們會邀請正反方共八間中學的學生參加，作為一個通識話題的研習，學生需要先從資料搜集開始，通過探討分析，提出論據去支持他們的論點，稍後進入錄影廠時，將會壁壘分明，代表正方或反方進行雄辯擂台，他們會聯同一些八十後和九十後、與及代表基層和代表商/富裕階層一眾嘉賓，參與每集貧富議題的激烈辯論。

除了主要的辯論部份外，節目中亦會有參與嘉賓的背景介紹和生活體驗片段，並提供一些貧窮境況的數據。

《窮富翁再戰江湖》唇槍舌劍，論盡貧富差異。據理力爭，貧窮係人為定天意。窮富翁豪情再起，為貧窮人士打氣，為社會公義吶喊。

Montreal Chinese Catholic Mission held a badminton competition on July 30th -- 31st. Thank you for your support!

Thank you everyone who has worked in the MCCM Badminton tournament. It is really a miracle. There were 60+ people on July 30th. All the beefball sold within 2 hours. There were Canto, Mandarin, English and French people to have fun together in a pretty hot day. The age was from 8 years old to 85+ years old (Fr. Tou was there to support!!!). It is a Miracle! Thank you for Uncle Peter Chan + Youth Club for the snack bar. Thank you for our 2 photographers: Vincent Lo and Peipei Hu. Thank you for all the setup people: Yuan Lee, Emma Yuen, Matthew Suen, Kathleen Wong, Wilson Wong, Wong Tai 黃太 + Many others!!!! Thank you for our 2 judges: Ho Ming Li and Gill Huang!!! 2 words "Freedom" and "Love" are very important for us to live. We spent our whole life to fight for freedom and love. They are closely related. The definition about love and freedom in our culture is very different than people who follow Jesus.

Be courageous to feel what you really feel!

Sexual revolution of the 20th century which is understandable as a reaction to the punish-less and fear of the sexuality which is typical of the previous era.The Sexual revolution went to another extreme. It promised us there will be "better" relationship with men and women. There will be more happiness, more freedom, more joy! Are men and women really more happier?

If we not in control of our own desires (Sexual desires), We will inevitablely seek to others to seek to gratify our desires.

Our culture convinced us that sex, sex and more sex is what we want!

Authentic sexual liberation is not the freedom to indulge one’s compulsions. Rather, it is freedom from the compulsion to indulge. Only to the degree that a person is free from the tyranny of lustful impulses is he capable of being a true gift to others.

Man is not an animal ruled by instinct. He is a rational animal who, to live in accord with his own dignity, must act freely.

Your body does not make sense by itself... we can look at creation. There must be a plan.

The talk is very inspired, at least made me think for the whole night.

菲傭一個月 = $3320 (包食、包住、包燕梳、包來回機票)

非常荒謬!!!!! EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!

This year is not a good year for me.

At the end of 2009, I thought I will have less things to complete in the following year (2010) since I have finished organizing ECCCLC 2009, requested to stop teaching Sunday School and had less responsibility in the Montreal Chinese Catholic Youth Club. In fact, it does not happen. Problems did not go away because of less responsibility. There are 10x more problems than before. These problems are seriously hurting everyone. It broke lots of relationship between friends and relatives. I don't like this.

However, this year, my relationship with God has improved a lot. My prayer quality has been improved. Thanks for Fr. Francis Ching's teaching about prayer. He told me to pray "SPECIFICALLY". Do not put your prayer into an abstract way. I thank God specifically. I request what I need specifically too. I can feel my relationship between God and me get closer every time I finished a prayer. I think when you know a new friend, you also want to know him better. We can know a friend by communication. We can also know a friend by reading his/her blog. Bible is God's blog actually. Whenever my relationship with God get closer, I felt a strong hit from the Evil. Problems come up again and I sin again and again and again.... I can feel my weakness. BUT, God is great! God keeps telling me to fight the Evil with Jesus.

2010 will be passed in 10 days! I hope the Evil can stop attacking me. I will keep praying and hope you all can keep praying for me too.

One little memorable situation:

2 days ago, FLL had a TV episode about Br. Andre and they have interviewed me for around 1 min. I did not even watch it since I was on my way back from Toronto to Montreal. Monday morning (yesterday), I passed through the food court at Eaton Center. There was a person (that I don't know) stopped me and asked me if I am a Chinese and if I can speak Canto. She said she saw me on TV yesterday. Wow... it was only a less than one minute interview and I thought that not many people will watch「生命恩泉」in Montreal... but, that's really wrong!!!!!! Please support 「生命恩泉」.

我「閒話」了七十集啦！

首先，我想多謝《生命恩泉》給了我們「閒話主流」團隊「愛的恩泉」這麼一個完美的平台。這個平台使我們能夠運用天主給我們的「塔冷通」作天主的事。傳福音是每一位基督徒受洗時對天主許下的其中一個承諾，這個大家都是知道的，但是大家可能覺得自己還沒有資格去傳福音，你是否覺得耶穌只會召叫合資格的人嗎？讓我們看看天主找了誰去作祂的工具和他們被召叫時的情況吧！

伯多祿缺乏自我控制能力、

保祿、伯多祿、梅瑟等聖人都脾氣暴躁、

所羅門王富有、有豐富智慧，但生活非常不檢點、

掃祿(歸化後名保祿)、梅瑟、達味王都犯個殺人罪

還有…

雅各伯是一個騙子 (創 25:26-34) 、

納敖米是一名寡婦 (盧 1) 、

辣哈布是一名妓女 (蘇 2:1) 、

梅瑟不是一個有口才的人 (出 4:10)、

耶肋米亞時常悲傷 (哀 3:16-24) 、

天主所挑選的人實在特別!在制作這七十集的「閒話主流」裡，常常遇到困難，有多次使我萌起放棄的意念。有次我祈禱問耶穌:為甚麼召叫一個沒有資格的人去做這件那麼重要的事(在電台福傳)?於是第二天，奇蹟就發生了!我去了一個靈修講座，導師介紹了很多聖人及耶穌的門徒，他們都是有著自己的問題與缺點，但是天主仍然召叫了他們。原來天主召叫了我和召叫他們的理由也是一樣—我們都是不完美的，但是如果我們都有共同的使命，集合我們各人的塔冷通，那我們就是完美了。

做一集十二分鐘的「閒話主流」需要的人力並不少，一方面需要不同人提供靈修上的資料、另一方面又要有「閒話主流」的娛樂特色，目的是要吸引非教友及年輕教友注意，同時又要傳達天主的訊息。要平衡這兩個大原則，我們的團隊就需要有各式各樣的義工，而這些義工都要有共同的使命。感謝主給我認識了一班這樣「奇怪」的朋友！他們願意每星期犧牲時間來開會、錄音、剪接及作無限次的修改！我們當中每個人都擁有不同的專業，如果我們一起組織一間公司，應該以經「發咗」！但我們知道天主賜給我們的「塔冷通」是要去作天主的事。

「閒話主流」團隊是身處滿地可，我們不但不能在收音機旁收聽最新的節目，就連在多倫多或溫哥華聽眾的鼓勵及意見也很難收到。所以，如果大家對「閒話主流」有甚麼意見或新題材，請多多提出；又或者來滿地可遊覽時，可以順道到滿地可中華天主堂探望我們，給我們寶貴的意見！

最後我再想多謝所有曾經給我們鼓勵及意見的人，沒有你們的支持，我相信「閒話主流」不能突破七十集。

ECCCLC 2009 "My" Committee Sharing

能夠成為加拿大東岸天主教華人生活營的籌委可以說是在我生命中一件不可思議的事。二零零八年的加東完畢後，有不少的朋友告訴我應考慮一下零九年加東籌委，其實我零七年已經去了Discernment Meeting，主要目的是當司機。因為我當時是滿地可中華天主堂青年會主席，為了鼓勵青年去擔任加東籌委，我就自告奮勇的當司機起來，送有意者從滿地可到多倫多參加零七年的Discernment Meeting，免得交通問題成為他們考慮的因素。由於我覺得我只是一位司機，所以我就豪不考慮地在投票一刻前退出。結果我如願以償，Brennan能夠成為零八年的加東籌委，而我就做好了司機的責任。

到了零八年的Discernment Meeting，我又再提出擔任司機的意願，可惜在出發之前三天，租車公司說：「所有車已經租出，只能把你放到輪候名單(Waiting List)上，如果有人退出就通知我。」但他繼續說：「請不要太樂觀，因為希望不大！」於是我只好告訴那位想去零八年的Discernment Meeting的青年可能要單獨乘火車前往多倫多，但他立即說：「咁…唔緊要啦，我唔去啦！」於是我就祈禱：「天主，如果這是你想的，我無話可說，返正做Committee的都不是我！」聽起來是有一點酸，但願來我正慢慢闖進了天主的計劃內。

到了出發之前一天，租車公司忽然打電話告訴我現在有車了，於是我就立刻通知那位想去Discernment Meeting的青年，可惜他說已經按排了其他約會，不能去。哈！剛好我的一位親戚從香港來了加拿大，我家人想帶他到多倫多一遊，所以我就一同前往。既然決定要去多倫多就沒有藉口不去Discernment Meeting，結果我的角色就又司機變成Committee了 — 天主選了我！

就是因為我成為了加東籌委，所以我去多倫多的次數多了很多，而每次來多倫多的時間表也一定安排得密密麻麻。記得第一次Committee Training的週末，我約了一些從幼稚園已經相識的同學和這幾年在加東認識的好朋友見面，其餘的時間就只可用作休息，就在這個時候，Paul & Cecilia Tam 就問我有沒有時間見面。我一再看看我的時間表就立刻拒絕了。其實他們是我第一次去加東時所認識的朋友，所以我以為他們約我的目的只是聚舊，後來，Cecilia再寫一封電郵給我，內容講及天主教中文電台節目〔愛的恩泉〕成立一事，我立即知道這事非同小可，因為我是滿地可中文電台其中一位主持，深深知道可以在電台節目大談宗教是一樣難能可貴的事，這亦是我的願望。於是就立刻再安排時間與他們見面，亦答應參與其中。

總括而言，這兩年在我身上所發生的事只能說是「神蹟」！在這裡，我想多謝我那五位加東伙伴，常常包容我的短處，當我最忙的時候幫助我。最後，感謝天主給我這一切的安排。希望大家也能享受天主給你的所有安排。

窮的定義

一位父親很有錢，有一天，他和家人帶著小兒子到鄉下去參觀。

他們立意要讓小兒子知道什麼叫做「窮」，所以帶他去農村，
要他實地體會一下窮人的生活。

他們在一個很窮的農家裡住了兩天。
農家的孩子要負責餵養家畜，要負責訓練幫忙農事的狗。

傍晚時分，為了節省自來水費，農家的孩子們都到附近的小溪裡去洗澡；
晚上沒錢沒燈、沒錢付電費，只能全家聚在黑漆漆的院子裡聊天。

當他們從農家回來以後，爸爸問孩子說：「你覺得這趟行程如何？」
孩子說：「很好啊！爸爸！」
「你見識到窮人家到底有多窮了吧？」爸爸問。
「是啊！」孩子點頭稱是。

「那你看到了什麼嗎？」爸爸又問。
孩子回答說：「我終於見識到我們家到底有多窮了。」

孩子繼續說：「我們只有一隻狗，但是他們卻有四隻狗；
那四隻大狗在他們小孩的指揮之下，又聽話，又懂事。
當他們家的小孩好神氣！」

「而且，我們只有一個游泳池，還是在花園中間；
但是他們卻有一整條溪流，沒有盡頭；
他們每天都可以盡情地玩水仗，我們家卻只有我一個人游泳。」

「還有，我們家的花園只有一排進口的路燈，可是他們卻有滿天的星星；
他們每天晚上都可以聊天聊得好高興，可是我們家卻沒有人跟我聊天。」

「我們家的空間只到前面庭院，但他們卻有整個天地的空間。」
孩子作了個結論。孩子說完，父親無言以對。

是的，只要有愛、有朋友、有家庭、有健康、有幽默感、
對人生懷抱積極的態度，那你就是最富有的人！

係六年前開始，對香港人黎講，一號已經唔再係愚人節，我仲記得2003年4月1號，有一位朋友打電話俾我，話哥哥張國榮係文華東方酒店跳樓自殺身亡。

一追再追，只想追趕生命裡一分一秒，一追再追，追蹤一些生活最基本需要。記得追呢首歌係我學識第一次原來聽歌係會喊架。原來聽歌既時候係要將自己放入去首歌裡面去感受，感受一下歌者係唱既時候既感覺，然後再慢慢細味箇中既感情。

當我睇張國榮夜半歌聲既時候，我又學識得愛情係D乜既野。當我再聽番夜半歌聲既原聲大碟，戲裡面既情景都會係我腦海裡面一一咁呈現。多謝哥哥張國榮，雖然佢已經離開人世，但係佢既一顆心仍然係熱架。

四月一號係張國榮逝世六週年，我地將永遠懷念哥哥張國榮

和所有人都一樣

——訪殘疾陽光青年陳樹江

3月20日，由康大（Concordia）學生黃蕾發起的青年慈善組織“Love 4 Life”（熱愛生活）在蒙特利爾中華文化宮舉辦了一場為中國殘疾孤兒募捐，以年輕人為主體的“Back to Basic”（回歸本性）才藝表演大會。舞臺上生龍活虎，舞臺下群情激昂，大會開得非常成功。而當天活動的最大亮點，不是名冠蒙城的歌星，不是才華出眾的美女，而是一位步履蹣跚登上講壇的殘疾青年。

他的才藝是演講，演講的課題是命運，命運的無常與人生的美好，在他聲情並茂的演繹中達到完滿的結合，感動了所有的觀眾。一名觀眾對記者說：“他身有殘疾，卻活得比我們更加充實，更有意義，他是我們的榜樣。”

他的名字叫陳樹江（Billy Chan）。

提升生命的價值

1980年，陳樹江出生在香港一個普通工人家庭，先天的雙足反生令他不能行走。“醫生鋸斷我的腿，再重新把腳接上……我記不得進行過多少次手術了，只記得我的童年幾乎是在醫院裏度過的。”陳樹江講得很平淡，帶著永恆的笑意：“最辛苦的是我的媽媽，她每天都要趕來醫院看我，照顧我。”

記者問：你有沒有過感覺沮喪，認為命運對你不公平？

陳樹江回答道：“當然有。小時候，小朋友笑話我，學我走路的樣子，第一次坐校車去上學，就有小朋友把腳伸到過道上害我絆倒摔跤，這些時候我都很不開心……我也問過媽媽，為什麼單單是我？媽媽說，每一個人都是獨特的，你生來就是這樣，沒有為什麼。但是很多東西人在後天是可以控制的，例如你可以用殘疾去提升你的價值，這就是很好的控制。”

陳樹江是如何做的呢？

“我認為，人們笑我是正常的，如果有一個人跟大家不同，我也會多望他一下。現在，當有人學我走路的姿勢時，我會問他，你覺得這樣走路辛苦嗎？一個人回答說，很好玩。我再問，如果你每一天都這樣走路，會辛苦嗎？這個人不說話了，去思索了。他如果從此開始想到其他人的感受，那麼我就因幫到了別人而提升了自己的價值，這就是控制。”

打不垮的陳樹江

陳樹江演講一般用廣東話或者英語，所以當他開門見山講起普通話來，記者吃驚地問，你在哪里學的普通話，你懂簡體字嗎？陳樹江笑了：“在香港，簡體字的書比較便宜，因此我總是買簡體字書，在麥吉爾大學我還學過一年的普通話。”

陳樹江14歲來加拿大時，正趕上耶誕節，法語“歡迎班”本來進度就慢，加上不斷有新生加入，學過的東西又要重來，一學期過去了，也沒學到什麼東西。這裏的叔叔阿姨們對他說：“Billy，你上不了正規大學了，因為你至少要學兩年的法語，這樣等你中學畢業就19歲了，只能上成人班了。”

陳樹江不甘心，他去找老師，跟老師說，我無論如何要上大學，有沒有其他辦法？老師被他的決心所感動，用半年的時間教了他兩年的法語課。儘管中三第一學期的法文考試不及格，還是允許他升了中四，但是必須重讀法語。他又去找校長，對校長說，我的數學基礎很好，數學課對我是時間上的浪費。能不能讓我把中四、中五的數學一起學，一起考，使我能把更多的時間用在法語上。校長允許了，但是條件也很苛刻。給了他兩個年級的教科書，但是沒有老師教。期末統考那天，他考完中四的數學，直接作中五的試卷，不得走出考場。“那天，我連續考了6個小時沒動地方。”

到了升中五時，陳樹江集中精力攻克法語，每週上12節法語課，最終完成了預定目標，和同齡人一起中學畢業。

上了CEGEP John Abbott學院，新的問題出現了，這回是英語。“我原來以為自己英語還可以，但到了第三個學期，每位同學都要考英語畢業試，可惜我沒有通過這次的考試。這時候又有人說我上不了大學了，因為離畢業只剩6個月的時間，連我的父親都說不可能趕上了。我非常感謝我的老師，我去找他想辦法，老師非常好，願意每週拿出三天來免費教我，另外又介紹一個學生給我補習。我那時每天都要寫一篇作文，三個禮拜過後，我發現被老師糾錯的紅字越來越少，6個月後我不僅順利通過英語考試，還考上了我喜歡的麥吉爾大學，雙修數學和電腦兩個專業。”陳樹江說：“這幾年的坎坷經歷，對我的成長很有好處，在‘不努力就上不了大學’的強烈激勵下我學會了如何面對困難，永不放棄。”

情商（EQ）顧問

很不巧，陳樹江大學畢業正趕上2003年IT業大衰退，找不到對口工作，於是他回香港當了一名EQ顧問，設計了EQ數學家陪訓班。

“EQ數學家”？

“我幾乎每年暑假都回香港，17歲起開始跟表哥學習EQ理論。（EQ是心理學名詞，為Emotional Quotient的英文縮寫。通常譯為：情緒智慧或情緒智商，簡稱情商。它代表的是一個人的情緒智力（Emotional Intelligence）能力。簡單來說，EQ是一個人自我情緒管理以及管理他人情緒的能力指數。）我表哥在大學做心理學教授，我常跟著他到處演講，給他打下手。2000年的一天，他在給保險從業員講課當中突然說道：‘這個青年叫陳樹江，我們請他來講講他的故事。’我一點準備也沒有，被逼無奈只好講了我的過去。表哥說我講的很好。他的肯定非常厲害，從此我一次又一次走上講臺。我現在回想，也許我開始講得並不好，但是在他的不斷鼓勵下，我當年就成了一名情商顧問。2003年我回去後，他又給我機會單獨開課，講授怎樣處理青少年對數學不喜歡，甚至害怕的情緒。我用了三個月的時間泡在圖書館裏查資料備課。從一開始只有20名學生，到後來每期80人，我的課大受歡迎，人們叫我‘EQ數學家’。”

陳樹江強調EQ非常重要，是一個人應該研究一輩子的學問。“人們說我講話感染力強，就應當歸功於這段當情商顧問的經歷。”陳樹江說。

不怕失敗爭取自由

記者請陳樹江發表人生感言和讀者們，特別是青年讀者們分享，他首先說的是：不要怕失敗。“

“你失敗過嗎？”記者問。

“當然！”

2004年，陳樹江想回Mc Gill大學攻讀電腦碩士，研製“有感情的Robert（機器人）”，遭到教授拒絕。“我當時人在香港，感覺很失敗。現在回過頭去看這次失敗，又不是失敗了。如果我是在Mc Gill讀研究生，還是原來的環境，原來的老師，但去了Concordia大學，一切都和原來不同，我有了全新的感受，學到了許多新的東西。我還有過法語不及格，英語不及格的失敗經歷，但現在我可以提供給其他年輕人從我的失敗中得到經驗和教訓。每當我演講完，有朋友告訴我，以後知道了怎樣面對失敗，我都非常開心。”

陳樹江第二個要說的是“做一個自由的人”。他說：“自由就是可以做出選擇。這對年輕人非常重要。如果你知道了什麼叫自由，成功就有了一半。比如說抽煙，當你說不抽就不行時，你就失去了自由；還有，有的人迷上色情網頁，影響學習和健康，欲罷不成。那我說，你能不能不把電腦放在房間？如果你說不行，那你就不是個自由的人。你不能控制自己，而是讓自己被其他東西控制了。”

人生目標

陳樹江的人生目標是“通過跟朋友們分享我走過的道路，包括我做錯了的事情，把我做人的精神傳下去。”

“你有做錯的事情嗎？”記者問。

“有的。比如很多工作都是朋友們一起幹，有時，當別人做的達不到我理想時，我會忍不住發脾氣。這說明，我在教別人控制情緒的同時，自己也要學習控制自己。我最喜歡的一句話是‘生氣不如爭氣’，當你生氣的時候，應該檢討怎樣才能避免令你生氣的事情發生，而不是發脾氣。要相信，別人不是誠心讓你生氣的。”

陳樹江有太多的社會活動，因此他名片上只有一個名字，沒有任何頭銜。他的全職工作是程式設計員，業餘時間幾乎全部奉獻給他人。他說：“我沒有一個富裕的家庭，現在還和父母住在一起，因此，我要用8個小時賺錢養家，8個小時做社會義工，剩下8個小時給自己睡覺。”

陳樹江的父母移民後買了一間咖啡店經營，“為了供我和妹妹上大學，他們吃了很多的苦，特別是我看到咖啡店裏有很多人抽煙，這對爸爸媽媽的身體健康不利，因此我大學一畢業就不讓他們再工作了。這是我的責任。”事實上，陳樹江從中學起就開始當家教掙錢了，難怪很多人感慨說，陳樹江所做到的一切，是一般正常人都難以做到的。

陳樹江是多倫多、溫哥華和蒙特利爾中文電臺的義務主持人，他在華人教會任青年領袖，他還到處去做演講，之後還要回答人們的諮詢，他還愛彈鋼琴，並喜歡自己作曲……有人問他，你走路都已經很辛苦，幹嘛還要做那麼多，他說，每一個人都有自己的長處和短處，一個人應該知道自己的長處是什麼，並貢獻給社會。如何知道自己的長處在哪里？要靠學習和實踐，同時也是每一個父母要作的功課。陳樹江說：“我的長處是數學好，EQ高，擅長講話，我要把這些長處充分發揮出來。我之所以願意在電臺作義工，是希望利用這個平臺，教移民的孩子如何學中文，怎樣建立自信心，如何提高口才。”他還說：“最浪費你時間的人是你自己。我從西島家到工作單位（Eaton Centre）要坐25分鐘的火車，我每天都拿本書讀。時間就是這樣擠出來的。”他建議年輕人養成讀好書的習慣，例如“EQ，這本書教我們怎麼做人，怎麼對人，怎麼生存。”他接著說：“有些家長在教育孩子上有問題，有一天在唐人街一個孩子把冰激淩紙扔在地上，他媽媽說‘撿起來，扔到垃圾桶裏去’，孩子不聽，媽媽提高嗓音說，‘你不照做我就打殺了你！’孩子還是不理，媽媽又說，‘你不聽話我把你一個人留在這裏’，孩子就跟沒聽見一樣。我常用這個例子告訴家長，你為什麼要說根本不會去做的事情呢？你會殺了他嗎？你會把他留在唐人街嗎？孩子也知道你不會那樣去做，所以他才不聽。你其實可以用孩子的語言跟他說，你這樣做，地球媽媽會死的。這就是EQ。”

陳樹江最後說：“我和所有人都是一樣的，要說有不一樣，那就是我每天都笑，因為我覺得自己非常幸運。我不能去的地方，總會有人幫我去；我忙不過來的時候，總會有朋友幫我分擔。還有我的爸爸媽媽，他們對我太好、太好了……”說到這裏，愛笑的陳樹江眼中泛起了淚花。

有的人四肢健全，卻無所事事；有的人衣食富足，卻怨天尤人。陳樹江是活動在我們周圍的一面鏡子，在他的面前，我們每一個人都應該駐足看上一看，想上一想……

遠方香濃的咖啡

我愛喝咖啡，更愛咖啡的故事。

可考據的咖啡史，源於1500年前埃塞俄比亞，經阿拉伯傳至世界，成為人類的飲料和文化。

咖啡的魅力沒法擋。當咖啡傳入意大利時，被視為異教徒罪惡的飲料。幸而教皇克雷蒙8世說：為何撒但飲品如此美味！讓異教徒獨享豈不可悲？

咖啡遂進入基督教世界。但咖啡熱潮席卷歐洲，卻由於咖啡館的興起。

一杯咖啡，無所不談，咖啡館很快成為思想和訊息的交匯點。法國大革命思想家伏爾泰、革命領袖丹東與復辟帝制的拿破崙，都曾在著名的普羅柯布咖啡館喝咖啡，最後改寫了法國的歷史。

關於歐洲咖啡館，最常引用的話是：我不在家裏，就在咖啡館，不在咖啡館，就在去咖啡館的路上。可見咖啡文化影響歐洲之深。

很多名人都是咖啡館常客：薩特、西蒙波娃、畢加索、海明威、巴爾扎克、愛恩斯坦、托洛斯基、佛洛伊德、史特勞斯、梵高……。若有人整理咖啡館的文化遺產，恐怕是一份長長的清單。

當中梵高的際遇最苦，一生從未風光過。但梵高很多偉大的作品，都是在咖啡深夜孕育的。他曾在極端貧困的日子，以咖啡維持創作的力量。他寫信給弟弟說：我的錢已花光了，4天裏靠23杯咖啡，加一點點麵包為生，麵包錢還是欠人家的，但創作卻深深地吸引着我，我像苦力一樣畫着我的油畫。

梵高確實將咖啡館入畫，《夜間露天咖啡店》創造了夢幻的黃與藍。那咖啡店至今猶在，成為法國南部Arles鎮最亮麗的咖啡景點。

我曾到過Arles的梵高咖啡店，追懷畫家創作的風景；我也曾到埃塞俄比亞的咖啡園，喝人類最原始的咖啡；我更渴望到法國塞納河左岸的咖啡館，追尋人類偉大心靈的足印。

但我最喜愛的咖啡，是女兒從英國寄來的，每當夜深伏案，或是清晨寫稿，一道濃濃的咖啡香，遠方溫暖如在夢中。

願咖啡香濃常在，溫暖長留，不需妙想天開。

給民建聯獻計

最近得知民建聯不會參加立法會補選，他們認為不參加補選可以令公社兩黨的所為公投失敗而回，待他們重入立法會時再給上一個實際浪費公帑的罪名。其實民建聯(中央)有很多方法可以拖垮他們的所為公投，既不用背上參加公投的罪名，又可以打擊公社兩黨，最重要是提升黨的知名道。

他們只需要派多名二打六去參選，而他們的政綱都和公社兩黨的政綱差不多的，混淆視聽，然後再攪十天大陸來回包龍蛇宴加手腳底按摩團 (二人同行，小孩價錢)。全程又民建聯高層在巴士上為大家再陪訓，題目包括:怎樣投票？誰是魔鬼？以及解讀基本法 Version 2012 upgrade版。注意：目的地一定要大陸，因為長毛毓民們不可參加！頭一百位報名者均可得到〔中央字典2010〕一本，內有最新普選定義(肯定你末見過)、普選路線圖(中央)和最重要的超級市場優惠Coupon!!!希望有心人可以聯絡民建聯舉辦這個有益身心的活動，等我囉定假先！

五十年不變

香港人，你們還不明白「五十年不變」的意思嗎？港區全國人大代表譚慧珠已經說明了香港的權力並非來自人民，即是民主不可能只在香港實現。只有中國有民主，香港才可有民主。

「五十年不變」的意思是以前不能一人一票選港督，現在亦不可能一人一票選特首。中央對普選的解釋可能是用中央認為有廣泛代表性的人來選特首。例如立法局議員，所以很可能中央政府覺得：要有廣泛性，一定要再加功能組別的議席！而這些人一定要明白中央的心思，功能組別最特別的地方就是他們是最不關心政治，功能組別最關心的就是他們各自各的「功能」，於是中央便可以對正下藥，幫助發展他們的「功能」，看看高鐵撥款一事就完全明白了。中央對台灣的政策都是一樣，要台灣府首只需給一部分掌權們所需的，他們便不攪獨立了！

香港人要有民主，除非香港獨立成一個國家，但是你們想一想，香港連食水也要大陸供應，香港怎能獨立？長毛毓民！移民吧！

香港高鐵問題

時事評論員何亮亮先生在鳳凰衛視「時事開講」節目中談及香港高鐵問題，聽他分析後，便完全明白為何中國還有那麼多窮人。他說中國建高鐵的原因是因為高鐵能代表國家現代化的面貌，他引術1978年當時的副總理鄧小平到日本訪問第一次看到子彈火車時非常感蓋。

中國人對面子的重視眞是世界之最。國內很多貧窮地方的人民就連基本生活所需都沒有，用那麼多資金建高鐵去幫助商人和遊客更快的來回中國，幫助「他們」賺更多的錢！

再看看人均收入三萬港元的香港，正是表面風光，貧窮人叫苦連天，現在每港人還要拿接近一萬港元出來建高鐵，為的是不想香港邊緣化！即是要與中國的現代化(面子)接軌。說到這裡，其實都沒有問題，反正香港人都愛面子。但可否平一點？不是每個反對聲音都反建高鐵的，只要棄用西九作起點，在立法會快些過的機會就大大增加了。

My 1st Macintosh Computer

Recently, I got a new Mac computer. Yes, it is expensive. I of course have my reason to get it, but the reason is not important to put it here.

However, there is a good and close friend of mine keep saying that Apple inc. donates money to support same-sex marriage which has conflict with my Catholic religion catechism. Before, I think that she just wants to remind me and will stop saying this after 1 or 2 days. However, she keeps saying this. I somehow want to say "What do you want? I have my reason to get this laptop which you know it!!!! Stop criticizing my decision and my lovely Mac book!!!"

Of course, The reason I sound mad is somehow, I agree on her too. LOL... this idea keeps running in my brain days and days and days... (Yes, actually can't sleep Then, I opened my Bible and read the following scripture:

Of course, I understand that buying a computer from Mac is totally different from paying tax to government. One thing came to my mind is that should we still pay tax to Canada government although we know that they are using our money to support "abortion, contraception, same-sex marriage, war...etc" which are also conflicting our faith. According to Jesus, I think, yes, we should still pay tax. Not paying tax will not help on these situations. As a catholic, we should try our best to influence the government to avoid these kind of things.

As a Mac user now, I will try to send a letter to Apple Inc. and tell them my point of view. Also, as a catholic, we should keep doing evangilisation, teach people the "truth". Last Saturday in the Mandarin Sunday School class, one of my students asked me a very interesting question, "Do you think if a person hurts another person because he does not have a chance to learn anything about love, God or Jesus, will that person still goes to hell after he died?" My answer is, "I don't know. However, Jesus may blame to some of us (Catholic), because we did not do our job well which is ... " The 12-year-old kid said immidiately, "EVANGILISATION!!!!"... haha

Of course, I still don't know if my decision on buying a Mac is right or wrong, but I am sure that God knows what I am doing, and believe me or not, he (God) will "contact" me very quickly if I have something wrong.

Can "Love" be eternal? 愛是永恆？

Yesterday somebody asked me, "Can love really be eternal"?

I answered, "Yes".

He continued, "How do you know?"

At that moment, I did not know how to answer him, but I believed that my answer is right.

In fact, what does "Eternal" mean? If we do not use a religion angle to look into it, there is no way we can define it. Then, he keeps asking, "You are major in Maths in university, can you use Mathematics way to explain it?"

Eternal means Infinity. Infinity means nothing can be bounded.

However, mathematicians still cannot explain exactly to locate infinity.

In reality, time is defined by mankind. Besides religion, there is nothing can guarantee "Eternal love". Even with law and human nature which can only response to be able to see or hear the truth to decide whether you should be loved , that is what we called by evidence. However after you died, the law cannot gurantee "love" anymore.

God created humans, humans defined time that means God control time. Therefore, only love from God can be eternal. Also it is because of my faith, I believed that love can be eternal.

昨天，有人問我愛真的是永恆嗎？

我就想了一想，不知道為什麼！

其實什麼是永恆呢？如果我們不用宗教的角度去看，根本就是不可能解釋。他又問：「你主修數學，如果用數學的方法去解釋是怎樣的？」

其實，時間是人定出來的，除了宗教外，沒有一樣東西可以保証愛是永恆，就萛是法律和人性也只能因應能夠看到或聽到的事實來定你是否應該被愛，但當你死了後法律就不能保証了！

天主(神)做人，人定時間，即天主(神)掌管時問，所以只有天主(神)的愛才是永恆。就是因為我的信德，所以我信「愛是永恆」。

What is Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ)?

Emotional Quotient first came out as early as in A.D. 1960. This is a psychological term. In 1995, Daniel Goleman, the Father of EQ, has reformed the emotional theories of more than the past 30 years in his volume: ‘Emotional Intelligence – Why It Matters More than IQ”. He declared that each person had the inborn emotional quotient. He believes that this kind of intelligence can be shown in four situations, including:

Adaptation
Feeling
Organization
Learning process

This is a kind of establishing good interpersonal relationship ability. However this inborn interpersonal ability would bring into full play or regress based on environment influence. For example, the influence during childhood and teenagers as well as coming from parents, teachers and friends.

In 1990, Peter Salovey and Jack Major have called this kind of EI effect level as Emotional Quotient (EQ). Many parents have asked if there is a standard to measure EQ’s level; the answer is yes. Many psychologists have done research on EQ tests, but every time the result does not seem to be the same. This is because everyone’s emotion will be adjusted in accordance to different environment. For example, in an extremely hot afternoon, your car’s air conditioner breaks down. In addition, there is a big traffic jam on the road; and suddenly you receive a call from your son, saying that he forgot the home keys so that he is not able to get in the house. What would your mood be? In this situation, if the traffic jam improves a lot all in a sudden, what would your mood be?

In summary, EQ is only a simple term to express the emotional level and its stability, especially in patience, calmness as well as get on along well with others.

Recently, I have been very busy on my radio works. When I look back, I can't believe that I have working on the Catholic Radio for 3 months!!!! These 3 months remind me that I do not know a lot on my religion. On the other hand, I have learnt a lot from it.

Of course, during these 3 months, I got lots of good comments and bad comments too. When I received good comments, obviously, I felt very happy. When I received bad comments, I actually always found that not appropriate. My first reaction always think like how come we need to be that formal when we talk about the catholic faith? Can we change it? Can we change the tast of the Catholic Teaching?

However, I linked this to the Cola Wars*:

By the mid-1970s, the Coca-Cola Company was a lumbering giant. Performance reflected this. Between 1976 and 1978, the growth rate of Coca-Cola soft drinks dropped from 13 percent annually to a meager 2 percent. As the giant stumbled, Pepsi Cola was finding heady triumphs. First came the “Pepsi Generation.” This advertising campaign captured the imagination of the baby boomers with its idealism and youth. This association with youth and vitality greatly enhanced the image of Pepsi and firmly associated it with the largest consumer market for soft drinks.

Then came another management coup, the “Pepsi Challenge,” in which comparative taste tests with consumers showed a clear preference for Pepsi. This campaign led to a rapid increase in Pepsi’s market share, from 6 to 14 percent of total U.S. soft-drink sales.

Coca-Cola, in defense, conducted its own taste tests. Alas, these tests had the same result—people liked the taste of Pepsi better, and market-share changes reflected this. By 1979, Pepsi was closing the gap on Coca-Cola, having 17.9 percent of the soft-drink market, to Coke’s 23.9 percent. By the end of 1984, Coke had only a 2.9 percent lead, while in the grocery store market it was now trailing by 1.7 percent. Further indication of the diminishing position of Coke relative to Pepsi was a study done by Coca-Cola’s own marketing research department. What made the deteriorating comparative performance of Coke all the moreworrisome and frustrating to Coca-Cola was that it was outspending Pepsi in advertisingby $100 million. It had twice as many vending machines, dominated fountains,had more shelf space, and was competitively priced.

With the market-share erosion of the late 1970s and early 1980s, despite strong advertisingand superior distribution, the company began to look at the soft-drink productitself. Taste was suspected as the chief culprit in Coke’s decline, and marketing research seemed to confirm this. In September 1984, the technical division developeda sweeter flavor. In perhaps the biggest taste test ever, costing $4 million, 55percent of 191,000 people approved it over Pepsi and the original formula of Coke.Top executives unanimously agreed to change the taste and take the old Coke off themarket.

That's why there is the word "Classics" on the Coca-Cola can.

From this, I learnt that I need to modify my talking style according to the audience. If I got comments, either good or bad, I should try to balance it out. This is what we can improve our creativity.

Update finally

Has been 1 week I did not update the blog. It is because of the war!!!! Haha... For those who understand the war, you are either my very close friend or actually inside the war. Anyway, I am recovered.

Last week, I went to mass everyday except for thursday. Daily mass gave me strength to pass through all the hard moment. God did help me. After the mass, I felt very peaceful. I can feel Jesus really holding my hands and walking with me. I know some of you may think that I am crazy, but it is true.

If you would like to join me for mass. Please tell me and we can definitely go together.

Base on a real story... War in 2 weeks

Today, there is a war. I am inside the war too. Although there are more people on my side than on the other side, we lost. We totally lost the war. Many people died, and luckily, I am still survive. I think the reason of it is becuase of the weapon is very powerful on the other side or I can say, we do not have any weapon. We are not allow to have weapon, once we have it, we will get kill right away.

The war does not suddenly come, but we cannot do anything to prepare the war. We can only wait for it, wait for it to happen, and wait to see the deaths. There are no doctors and medications prepared, but if you are lucky, you may get some nurses to help you.

Whenever there is a war, you will see people get hurt, tears on the face and feel helpless. The reason of I can survive is because of there is somebody sacrificed his life. 2 weeks ago, the alarm was on. There are lots of soldiers in the press conference.

General J said: Our country will be under attack. Kybsjk city will be the first city get destroyed before March 1st. Soldiers in Kybsjk will be there to protect their lands until the last minute.

Then, the war begins, on wednesday afternoon, our team as usual was on patrol. Suddenly, one of the other teammates came by and yelled out: Watch out. I forgot what did he say exactly and he fell on the ground with lots of blood. That bullet supposed to be pointed at me. It is from a silent gun!!! He actually got the bullet straight into his body. Before he died, he said: you should stay, you can do better than me in the team, thank you.

2 mins after his death, general D called an emergency meeting and said: the war is over. It won't be another war within 6 months. Trust me... the war is done... Don't be sared...

But, me... I cried... I felt so bad. Although I am still alive, but...anyway. I will pray for the sacrificed. I hope they can be in a happy land soon.

The war was in the beginning of Jan and ended today.

No, God will not punish people.

Wow.... we first need to understand that Bible is a collection of books. The books are a record of progress of the people. A Progress of how people understand God. It is just like a Math textbook from Grade 1 to Grade 12. So the books don’t record what God said but what people said about him. In the old Testaments, God was more of a person, which included emotions like anger and wrath. Then he was presented as a King until the Christians believed that God is love. As St. John said, “God is love.” He was the last to die and for now, was the peak for our learning. So the Old Testament prepares for the New Testament while the New Testament completes the Old Testament.

Jesus said in John 12:47 - 48, "If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall judge such a person, since I have come not to judge the world, but to save the world: anyone who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day." He is not coming to judge us. If there is no judge yet, there will be no punishment happen yet!!!

Keep in mind that the judge day will be on the last day. Did you prepare for it? If there is an angel in front of you, show you a button and said "If you press this button, the last day will be now and everyone will get his judge day. Will you press it?" This basically means one can go to the heaven right away. Most of the people will go to do confession right away and then press it which is kind of funny. You never know if the end of the day will be the next second. By then, we will not have enough time for confession anymore. So, choose to not sin will be the best choice here.

Some of you may know, I am a host in FM 102.3 in Montreal. Every wednesday at 10:30 - 11:30 pm, you can also listen to my voice on the radio. The show's name is called "Happy Wednesday" (開心星期三). The objective of the show is to bring happiness to audience. We will try to present news in a funny way. If you have never listened to it, you can always listen the archieve by click on the link I put in the right hand side of this blog. Give me comments.... I really need comments. I know people always say good thing in front of me, which will of course make me happy. However, people who tell me negative comments, I love them.

I remembered that there was someone actually asked me out for a lunch and told me that... "you know.. you did something and it hurts me... I hate you Billy, bla bla" He can tell me this in front of me because he loves me. I treat him as my real real friend. Nowadays, it's so hard to get someone to point out your mistakes in front of you in a positive way. Here, I want to say thank you to all my Real friends....

It is not easy to do "Happy Wednesday". I am a human. I cannot be always happy. Yes, I always make jokes... it is because I want to see people to smile. I love people to laugh and to be happy. Someday, when I am not happy, it is so so so so so hard to do "Happy Wednesday", when I sit in the studio, my brain will be blank when I am sad. I need to tell myself... I need to be funny... I need to be funny. After 1 year working in the radio show, I found that the actors or actresses are so good. They can change their emotions easily.

Today, I watched a concert on DVD. I cannot count how many times I had tears on my face. So touching. I want to know actually if the singer can be that emotional every night in the concert? If yes, that means he/she really passed thru a lot in his/her life. I am so easy to cry now. Easy to get touched... so emotional.....How can a computer programmer be that emotional???? hahahaha

Happy Wednesday is such a good way for me to encourage myself at least one time a week. I love to do that show because everytime, after the show, my mood will change. So, self encouragement is so important in our daily life. I can only understand this now.. wow... I am an EQ trainer MAN!!!!! Yes, if I don't have those "sad" experiences, I won't know the meaning of "happiness". Thanks God....

If Judas is a wrong choice for Jesus?

As some of you may know, I am a Sunday school teacher. I always received questions about Catholic faith. I would like to answer all of them by using the blog. I hope this can help other to understand God more.

Today's question: If Judas is a wrong choice for Jesus?

My answer is "I don't think so".

People think that it is a wrong choice because they think that Jesus chose somebody to betray him which is not a good thing. I believe that all this is under God's plan. In John 6:64 [But there are some of you who do not believe...], Jesus knew that among his disciples, not everyone has strong faith and some of them even "do not believe" and would "betray" him. After that, In John 6:66 [And he said, "For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father."] And if you keep reading the passage, people left because of Jesus told them the path to go to heaven, the best path of our life...

In John chapter 6, it actually stated that Jesus chose Judas in verse 70 [Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you twelve? Yet is not one of you a devil?"]. It is clear that Jesus said there is an evil among one of the deciple. What?? Jesus chose a devil?

To answer this, we need to understand that "Freedom" is one of the most important gifts that God gave us. We have freedom to do anything, including to sin. Judas has the choice to not sin, however he chose to do that. Devil thinks that by killing Jesus is the only way to mess up God's plan. Devil thinks that he is almighty too... haha. God knows it clearly since God is the real almighty. God knows Devil's plan well. Devil does not know that God can tranform the plan into this huge salvation plan. Devil does not know that by killing Jesus, will turn lots of people into believers. Because of the resurrection of Jesus, Christian faith become well known and changed lots of people's heart. God used Devil's plan to fulfil his own plan. Isn't it powerful? Yes, because God is almighty.

My Dream

Today, accidently, I read one of a letter that I wrote for applying to teaching position. Obviously, I did not get into teaching, but my tear ran down again when I read this. I would like to share this with all of you today:

The following describes my ambition and my desire in education. 1997 is a very important year for me.

In the beginning of the year, I met my first student. At that time, I was a Mathematics tutor and I was teaching secondary 4 and 5 level of Mathematics, in French. At the end ofthe semester, I received a thank-you card from her. This is the first meaningful thing I have done in my life.Even today, I can still remember the special feeling from that thank-you card. Since then, I told myself that Ihave to do more things like that to make mylife more colorful and cheerful. In same year, I went back to Hong Kong in the summer. As a coincident, I met Mr. Charles Yu, who is one of the famous Emotional Quotient (EQ) trainers in Hong Kong. He invited me to work in his company and I was so excited. During the 3 months in Hong Kong, I have learnt lots of EQ techniques.

Afterwards, I came back to Montreal to continue with my studies. Meanwhile, I continued to work as a Mathematics tutor for several levels, from secondary school to college. After my graduation from university, I worked as a teacher in a high school. The main task is to teach students who have learning disability in Mathematics.

During these 10 years, I was trying to combine EQ and Mathematics’ learning together. Since then, almostevery summer, I returned to Charles Yu Training Company to learn more teaching skills. In year 2000, I became an EQ trainer in the company. From 2003 to 2004, I started up a brand new course called “How tobecome an EQ mathematician” in Hong Kong. There were over 80 students who had registered to the course.

Last year, I have formed a training group called Billy Chan Training Team (http://www.chanbilly.com). I have trained 6 youths to be my teammates. We created the first French Leadership Summer camp in the Montreal Chinese community. Because of the excellent feedback, we started the first EQ course right after. There were around a hundred students who took my class in the year 2006.

I have currently graduated as a Master of Science. I think it is time for me to move on to another step in mycareer. When I look at my history in terms of education, career and my passion, education simply standsout to be the best chice for me. I love to teach and I enjoy being a teacher. In the past 10 years, I have taught over 10 000 students. From their supportive and enthusiastic feedback, it illustrates that, and I alsobelieve that, I am a good teacher. By adding EQ elements and techniques in teaching can actually motivatestudents to learn. Over these teaching years, it tells me that increasing learning motivation is the mostimportant thing in the classroom. This is not only teaching students with the required materials; we can also teach them how to learn by themselves.

Last week, I attended to one of my students’ convocation. I looked at him when he was walking onto the stage to be given the degree diploma. I remembered in the old days, the time that he did not like science atall and now, he graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science. My tears ran down and I talked to God,“Thanks for giving me an opportunity to teach.”
